Op Shop Finds

Spent all day Monday op shopping in Bendigo and had a couple of great finds. My favourite is this vintage Conan the Barbarian tee which has an awesome print and was $10 from a junk shop. Then I bought a long floral skirt for $2 that I'll shorten and add funky buttons to. Last but not least I got this great pair of Wittner leather heels for $4. I thought they'd fit but they're a tiny bit too small, I'm devastated, I'll have to sell them.

Six months ago if something at an op shop was pretty I'd buy it; even if it didn't fit, didn't look great on or wasn't something that realistically I'd ever wear. Now my room is so full of clothes that I've had to start using the floor and any other exposed surfaces to store clothes that I've probably never worn. My room looks like a grave yard for vintage clothes. I've got to start getting rid of them! I'm thinking I need to do a market somewhere in Melbourne and just get rid of everything cheapy cheap. I'm too disorganised to use etsy or eBay.

Fill four bags for $30

This Easter I went back to the country to see my family and we ended up at a gorgeous little market. At the market there was a church clothing sale and it was SO good! Clothes just everywhere! And none of them were more modern than the 90s. As usual, I bought up a storm. Just couldn't control myself. I ended up filling four plastic bags and paying $30 for the lot. My boyfriend was frowning as he knows I'm broke, but when I told him that I would have paid that for one item of clothing let along all of them he was a little less disgusted.

Just as I was posting this I realised that I have forgotten to take photos of the two greatest finds of the lot: a vintage striking red blazer with gorgeous gold buttons and an eighties parker jacket with an insane cut and a cute print, both of which I am going to wear over jeans and dresses all the time this winter!

I'll post pictures soon so look out for it, definitely worth it!

Op Shop Finds

I went op shopping today for the first time in too long! I only went to one place but it was completely worth it, I found so much really great stuff and I had to cut back most of it.

Here's what I bought:

This blazer that looks better on my boyfriend than it does on me :(

These shoes! As soon as I saw them I felt a neon paint DIY coming on and I can't wait to paint them. I just can't decide whether to paint the bottom bit-the grippy part whatever that is called, or the toe, help?

Here are my accessories, the little purse is a crochet clutch and once again I am planning to attack it with neon paint! The scarf is gorgeous and will be worn in SO many ways, and the belt is absolutely gorgeous, it is layers of golden shells, love it!

I didn't get this jacket, it was too boxy and huge and thick; but it was lovely!

And then there was this dress, I wanted it so much! But left without it because one rule I have when going op shopping is to buy clothes that are flattering, and although this was a gorgeous, one of a kind vintage dress, it just did nothing for me. And so if you feel like taking a trip to Glen Waverley Salvos, it will still be there on the racks and is definitely a steal for the right person!

Bonne Nuit friends, until next time!
